Everything begins somewhere and this alphabet book with a large bold upper case letter on each page, introduces children to alphabet and words that are going to become something special. "A is for seed," begins the pattern and it doesn't make sense until you look at the facing page and see that the seed will become tomorrow's apple. Oh, so A is for apple. And so it goes. Children play with the letters and watch to see what they will begin and what they will become. This is such a wonderful tool for teaching children to think about process. "E is for campfire." Can you figure that one out? Well, a campfire will become "tomorrow's embers." Isn't that beautiful? Can't you just feel children's minds stretching and imagining and processing and retaining? "U is for stranger, tomorrow's Us." There's a great finale with the letter Z but the entire book is one that children will ask for again and again, even those who know their alphabet. Ages 4-8 56 pages
