Good for Reluctant Readers?

Anna knows friendship is complicated.  Since her best friend Laura started hanging out with someone else, fourth grade is lonely.  So Anna turns to the pages of her favorite books for company and those books provide her insight into her changing world.  Anna discovers what it takes to make a friend and be a friend.

Anna, a Chinese American fourth grader, has a rough year when she and her former best friend, Laura, have a falling out.  Anna retreats into the world of books, where friendships are easier, as she tries to figure out how to be a friend.  This is lovely story about friendship and the friendship that you can only find in wide and diverse reading.
