Do you remember The Borrowers and the Littles? Well, here is a pint sized people book with five stories in it that's designed and written to be just right for the preschool brigade. The five stories are about the little people who live "at the bottom of the garden." The pictures are big and feature Raggedy Ann sort of little folks who live lives of great suspense. Charming is the best way to describe it and if you can imagine, they've put little picture symbols along the right hand page to indicate where each new story begins so there's no need to go paging through to find a family favorite. You'll be able to turn right to the story about the snail or the feather because you can see the picture showing you where that story begins. Very clever. Adventures abound as we search the house for Baby Rose and end with a warm and reassuring illustration and when we find a "monster" hanging upside down in the attic and there are some moments of great alarm until it wakes up and flies endearingly into the night sky. Short stories with warm pictures and enough variety to satisfy all young listeners. 64 pages Ages 3-7
