The story opens on a beautiful fall day with Farmer Bailey driving his truck when suddenly he feels something and thinks he has hit a deer.  Looking back he discovers a man lying in the road.  Where did the man come from? Who is he?

Farmer Bailey takes the man home to care for him and the farm warms to him.  The man apparently has no memory of where he belongs and is happy to stay and work with Farmer Bailey.  As the fall deepens and trees near Farmer Bailey's place begin to turn colors, the strangest thing happens.  Farmer Bailey's trees are still enjoying the warmth and wonder of summer.  Fall hasn't reached them even though all the farms nearby have moved on.

If you take the time to read this story twice or maybe even three times, you will begin to discover some subtle clues that lead you to solve the mystery of who the Stranger just might be.  See if you can find them!
