Even as a young mite, a termite that is, Roberto beat to his own drummer. He didn't eat his food...the maple, the pine...he played with it. Roberto dreamed of becoming an architect. But all the termites around him just laugh and tell him to look at being a chef instead. So, Roberto packs up and heads to the big city where he hopes to "build his dreams." Taking only a bag and the clothes on his back Roberto begins his city life in a flea-bag hotel and shares a room "with a family of bed bugs." Nonetheless, he begins to pound the pavement looking to start work in an architectural firm. But lacking experience he is turned down by the likes of Hank Floyd Mite and Lfes Van Der Rohe. Roberto believes in himself and he begins work on designs for an entire community of imaginative homes. Will he find his dream? Can he make his dream come true? Will anyone pay attention to a termite from the sticks? Ages 6-10 40 pages
