One of a Kind

We work so hard to find books that show our children the wonder of diversity.  But, some of our kids really don't "get" the books we share with them.  They stop listening and don't "get" what we're sharing with them.

This book is written for those kids who are thinking, "Oh no. Not another touchy feely book."  It features a boy with a love of drums.   He lives to his own beat and he is unique. He knows it and he loves being him.

But sometimes you feel like being unique with other people.  Happily when he goes in search of friends, he discovers one unique kid after another.  They are all excited and happy to get together and share their uniqueness.

The offbeat art and quick pace of this book will reach the outliers!

Bold, graphic art by indie rocker Chris Gorman of Belly captures the thrill and challenges of marching to your own beat.

Meet a pogo-dancing, punk-rock-loving kid who loves to express himself in his own unique way. His clothes, hairstyle, music, and just the way he hears the world, all set him apart. Not everyone understands him, but he likes being one of a kind--even though it's lonely sometimes. Fortunately, it's a wide world out there, and if he looks around a kid is sure to find other one-of-a-kinds with common interests.
