Louder, Lili

Louder, Lili

Lili has a very soft voice. It's so soft that her teacher doesn't even realize she's present in school and other girls who have much louder voices get to take care of the class pet. Gentle, shy Lili is not getting heard and is not getting what she needs and wants. As her school days pass by, Lili begins to see other girls who might be possible friends... people who would hear her in every respect. But, it takes an event of large proportions to finally help Lili reach inside and find that voice, that big voice, she's had hidden deep inside for such a long time. This is a wonderful book to read aloud to a class for discussion about bullying, about children who don't really know how to connect to others, and about being shy and risking with others. Ages 5-9 32 pages
