Midge, Pip and Dot are hens who live on Loopy Coop Farm. They would love to fly but they can't seem to figure it out. That handsome Rooster Sam can fly though...sigh...he of the golden toes and the snow-white tail. What a guy! Even a tiny little moth can fly. The girls have all the right equipment, wings and toes, but when they try to launch themselves from the barnyard fence, it's a bad case of ow for all. Then they get a great idea! The book is divided into three separate but connected stories and as always the Minerva Louise like humor and illustrations are big, simple and uniquely comical. A great read aloud. Ages 4-8 32 pages
