Sunrise Elementary has a big dragon of a problem: the librarian, Miss Lotta Scales. Miss Scales does not want any of those awful children touching her books and she certainly isn't going to do storytime for them. Everyone tries to make her see the joy of sharing the books but she refuses to budge. She's so awful the children begin to dread library day and the teachers stop sending the children because they come back 'singed.' Then, one day, Molly Brickmeyer comes into the library looking for her glasses. Blind as a bat, she doesn't see the ferocious signs hanging on the walls nor does she see Miss Scales. Molly begins to read aloud and the rest is well, the rest of the story! This is a great book for the first day of school in the library, ahem, excuse me, I mean the media center.
