Free Fall

A young boy falls asleep with his atlas of maps still open across his pajamas and his checkered comforter gently tucking him in. A soft breeze blows in through the curtains at the window and suddenly the comforter is transformed into checkered fields.

Through the incredibly vivid imagination of David Wiesner the story unfolds literally through a ten foot long painting that is revealed through page turn after page turn. Off we go into the world of the chessboard and onto the castle with its crumbling suit of armor that is ready to carry us off into a dream world of possibilities.

This is David Wiesner's first book that discovered his true gifts and talents and style. It follows his book THE LOATHSOME DRAGON chronologically but this is the real Wiesner coming to life.

For every child who loves searching a picture book to discover a story all her own, this is a masterpiece filled with imagination and adventure and possibilities. Truly a choose your own adventure story written as a wordless picture book.
