Flora's Very Windy Day

Big sister plus little brother equals big trouble. Flora is tired of her little brother, Crispin, getting into her stuff. Today it was her paints. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Flora's mother has had enough and she sends Flora and Crispin outside on this very windy day. Happily, Flora goes out the door wearing her big, heavy red boots that will keep her on the ground. Crispin is another story. He is wearing his very lightweight purple boots and the wind can and does pick him up and carry him off. Flora quickly sheds her protection and sails off to catch up to Crispin. Now up there in the very floaty wonderful spaces, Flora has several offers to take her brother off her hands. Clouds and rainbows, dragonflies and eagles all see very good uses for a little brother like Crispin. Does Flora really want to get rid of Crispin? She considers her options! A whimsical story that riffs the heart strings and ends with a cookie and a hug. 32 pages Ages 4-8
