Michael and Sheila are out for an adventure one day when they pass a fire station. They get a great idea! Let's go ride a fire truck. So, they knock on the front door of the station and ask if they may ride in a truck. "Certainly not," comes the answer. But while the kids are exploring they climb into the backseat of a fire truck and when the fire alarm sounds they are off, unnoticed, along with the valiant firefighters to the fire. The fire chief finds them and takes them home. In fact, both Michael and Sheila are so, so dirty, that when they get home their parents don't even recognize them and won't let them in the house. Michael lives in the bathtub for three days to get clean. Sheila has to live in the tub for five days. Sheila's next great idea is to visit the jail! Great read aloud.
