Enormous Potato

"There once was a farmer who had an eye." Now, this isn't an eye like your eye or my eye, this is the eye of a potato and he is going to plant it down in the ground and watch for it to sprout and grow. It grows all right and it gets bigger and bigger and bigger and....When it comes time to pull it out of the ground the farmer needs help. So, one by one, he calls on the cat, the dog, the daughter, the wife and finally the mouse. Yes, this is very much like the Enormous Turnip. The whole town ends up eating the potato until it and the story are all gone. Great read aloud.
