All These Things I’ve Done (Birthright series)

It’s 2083, and chocolate and caffeine are illegal. Anya is the daughter of the murdered crime boss of the Balanchine family, one of the major four families involved in the organized crime of making and selling chocolate. She’s already lost her mother, her father, is losing her grandmother, and is responsible for taking care of the family she has left, her little sister, and her older brother, who was left mentally slow by the accident that took his mother’s life, that was intended to kill his father.

Anya must figure out how to finish school, care for her family, and protect them from the extended Balanchine family, some of whom have their own agenda in the family business. Through all this, Anya will lean on the words left to her by her father, use them to guide her through, and learn that even good Catholic girls have temptations too.   Ages 12 and up   354 pager  (grade 7 and up)
