Who remembers the comedic timing of those esteemed characters, Elephant and Piggie?  We turned page after page as they went back and forth and we, the audience, could see what they did not see and could foresee what they with their humble abilities would have to wait to discover.

I have a feeling E & P live  pretty close to Mervin the sloth's neighborhood.  The word is out.  Sloth is going to do something amazing.  The words on the page are discovered by a gaggly of excited animals.  Each is pretty certain he or she knows what is coming next.

Can you guess?  Do you know what the best thing in the world of a sloth could be?

Tone:  playful, good read aloud for young listeners

What is the most wonderful thing in the world to do?  What would your answer be to that all important question?

Mervin the Sloth is about to do the best thing in the world.  The words are written in large black font over the top of the page as different animal friends show up to find out what's going on.  When they READ the words, they all start trying to guess what it is that Mervin will do.  Everybody has a great idea depending on who they are and what they love to do.  Maybe Mervin will fly.  Maybe Mervin will dig.

We all know that a sloth is not in any hurry to do anything so it's going to be a few pages before the big reveal.  Luckily we have all his animal friends waiting with as much excitement as we are.  They are highly entertaining.

What would you do?

Tone:  Playful and gentle with a little bit of happy confidence from the animal friends.  Mervin is a gentle soul with a warm heart.  Cuddly guy.
