Ocean bottles with corks are powerful and magical carriers of hopes and connections and best of all, of miracles. Who knew those hopes and miracles were dlievered by the uncorker of bottles.
Turns out there is a sad-faced man living high on a hill whose keen eye searches for the glint of glass in ocean waves. When he spots a bottle, he gathers it and its very special message and then does some setting forth to ensure its delivery to the intended recipient.
He loves his job. But as you may have suspected, there is a yearn, a tug, a hope inside his own heart that one day he will see his own name on a letter in a bottle set sail on the seas.
This is a story awash in loneliness and hopefulness. There is a timeless quality, a sense of quiet, and a lovely glimpse of life being filled with gossamer connections all neatly finding their places and points of connection.
A lovely, delicate, sensitive story that doesn't shout or blare but just like some of our most special friends you may know tells us playfully and with the lightest touch something we may know in some part of us that matters very, very much.
Everyone is special. Everyone deserves to have a friend. Everyone deserves a message in a bottle.
