Maybe a Bear Ate It

A little kitten snuggles up in bed with his stuffed animals and a beloved book, which he reads until he falls asleep. However, when the kitty awakens, the book is nowhere to be found! First confused, then worried, then terrified, he imagines all kinds of horrific fates that could have befallen it. A frantic search results in the young book lover finding his treasure, which he rewards with a heartfelt hug.

Robie Harris' humorous story believably portrays the progression of emotions of anyone who has misplaced something valuable--and the relief upon finding it again. Together with the delightful illustrations by Michael Emberley, this is a rib-tickling, imaginative story that kids will want to hear again and again. The simple text invites young book lovers to read it on their own.
