This is a story of three characters: a bear, a bluebird and a very tall tree. It begins one day when the young bluebird falls out of his nest and lands in the grass helpless. Luckily a caring young bear comes along in the nick of time and sees the problem. His heart is big and he is a courageous bear so he puts the little bird on his back and climbs up the tree. Inch by inch and step by step and scared feeling by scared feeling the little bear makes his way up the trunk and out onto the branch heading for the nest. Suddenly, he's stuck. This is the story of a large animal helping a small animal even though there is no guarantee he will succeed. Great for a story time with the youngest of listeners. Ages 4-7 24 pages
