Although this book is a very simple depiction of the classic image of love between parent and child, the difficult vocabulary is easily understood through the vivid illustrations.

This parent-child intimacy goes from landscapes that evolve from fields to forests to vast seascapes -- from big sorrows to love little tears. The art demonstrates the rhymes, which end each stanza with "and I love you." Definitely not a classroom book, but one that needs a one-on-one approach for maximum effect.
The text was originally published as BIG AND LITTLE in 1987.

Editor's Note: This book is “perfect for a loving bedtime story or an anytime story" to tell a young child how special and deeply loved he/she is. How wonderful to know that big things love little things from people to monkeys to trees. A hug for all.
