The large and small of it is that Ernest is soooo big he doesn't fit on the pages of the book. His friendly, hopeful, humorous face might fit in but then there would be no room for those gangly legs. He may be too "large that he can't fit inside this book" but "luckily, Ernest is also a very determined moose. He's not going to give up easily." And he is a very lucky moose because he has a small and plucky friend with big feet and an endearing tuft on the top of his head and he's a striped chipmunk. Now, you say, Barb, been there and done that? Not like this you haven't. Care for a little bit of alliteration (to steal a line from T.A.Barron). We're talking shimmy, shift and shuffle. We're talking squidge, sqodge and squeeze. Ah the power of a BIG idea and a very good friend. Bring in the masking tape. We're talking GREAT READ ALOUD. Determination, pluck, friendship, humor, alliteration and pure fun all rolled into one great book. 32 pages Ages 4-8
