Clara is an angel-blood. She receives her "purpose" when she has a vision of a boy she has never met in the midst of a forest fire. Her mom, a half-angel, moves the family from California to Montana, where research has shown them the vision takes place. Clara is struggling with the normal parts of growing up like fitting in at a new school and dealing with boys. But she is also dealing with some not-so-normal ones -- learning to fly, her responsibility to save another person, controlling her "glory". She is so sure that the boy in her vision is her destiny until someone else changes her feelings.
