If you're working with a beginning reader and need some resources for teaching tricky consonants, here is a nice little series to work with. This book focuses on the "ng" sound. Using photographs of real kids doing real things and sometimes doing funny things, kids get to practice the sounds in simple sentences. A little African American girl is spreading jelly on her toast in the picture and the accompanying text says "Channing likes to eat toast first thing in the morning." There are three chances to find the "ng" sound in the sentence. It's a short, relatable text with pictures that add dimensions to the practice work. Other titles in this series: ck, dr, ght, ph, sl
