Nicholas Benedict is nowhere near a normal orphan. First of all, he has an extraordinary mind for his age. In fact he has an extraordinary mind in all age ranges. Second, he has an unfortunate condition called Narcolepsy. Narcolepsy is a rare condition that if you experience a strong emotion, you fall asleep. This exposes Nicholas to the danger of falling asleep at any time he becomes angry, upset, excited, or happy.

Nicholas has never been adopted. So, he has been to many orphanages. To Nicholas they have all been the same. The bullies tease him, trying to make him fall asleep. But when he arrives at Rothschild’s End or ‘Childs End’ as some people call it, Nicholas encounters ferocious bullies, friendship, and a mystery that might just change his life.

This book is great for children above the age of 8. It’s also great for adults who love mysteries.
