This is another favorite of ours. The aunts in the story are very scary people, but at least he doesn't have to be with them very long. High seas adventure with wise insects. The young hero is a boy - great for boy readers when so much of the literature for that age has girl protagonists.

This is a great read-aloud book, but nobody reads it better than the late Natasia Richardson. Her audiobook rendition is worth every penny and gives the book another life. My kids have listened to it more than I can count, and now my son has chosen to read it to himself. funny and just the right amount of suspense and thrill for young ears.

I liked this book because it had 3 different kinds of animals. It was a little scary but if you like vampires, you will love this book a lot. It is kind of a mystery story because they didn't know if the rabbit was a vampire or not.
