About A Book And A Hug
Hello! Thanks for visiting us on bookandahug.com.
You walk into a library or a bookstore and you want to buy or check out a great book for a young person in your life. But which book is the right one?
It’s getting so hard to keep up with all the wonderful books being published these days. That’s why we created abookandahug.com.
NEW! Want a quick overview of our website and how to use it? Check out this video by our friend Danielle Tipay!
To know which book is going to be a great read for your reader, you need to know what type of reader you have. To help you find out what type of reader you have, we created two reading personality assessments. We recommend you follow these steps:
- Have your reader answer the ten questions on the Reader Personality Assessment – they can take the Basic or the Advanced.
- Once they find their reader type, Investigator, Teamplayer, Champion or Jokester, they can search bookandahug.com by their reading level, i.e. Independent Reader, Middle Reader, Older Reader, Mature Reader, etc. AND their reader type. They can search by category (genre) to narrow the search even more.
- Once they figure out their reader type, reading level, category, hit that search button and get a list of books that are curated exactly for them.
- Pick out some titles and go onto your public library or school website and put those titles on hold. That way, when you walk into the library, you have some books ready for you immediately.
Reading is so important. Reading paper texts is so important. Our young folks are losing (and our older folks too) the ability to do deep reading because of the time spent on the internet.
Books save lives. Books change lives.
Get yourself a stack of print books and start reading every day. It will be a game changer for you.
Happy Reading!
