"Tony, do your homework," his mother yells up. Tony is very busy reading a comic book and somehow he just never gets around to doing that homework before he turns out the light to fall asleep. Now, his school supplies are another story. His pencil, worried, decides to do the homework for him. So, it starts, "Once upon a time..." which may sound happily familiar to us but does not appeal to the eraser at all. "That stinks..." So, the team effort of pen, pencil, eraser and fountain pen begins. Can these guys work together? SPLOTCH! Uh, oh. That doesn't look good. Well, sometimes you have to make lemonade out of lemons or splotches. These loyal tools of the education trade give it their best. But, will Tony appreciate the surprise he finds in the morning? Great first day of school read aloud.
