Houndsley and Catina

Gentle Houndsley and Catina are very good friends. Catina has decided she wants to be a writer and she gets right to work. When she has seventy four chapters completed, she lets Houndsley read her work. While he reads, she stands next to him watching. "On the subject of mice, enough cannot bee said," Houndsley reads. What can Houndsley say to Catina that will not hurt her feelings? He thinks her writing is terrible. In the next chapter Houndsley always makes dinner for his friends Catina and Bert on Saturday nights. Catina is a vegetarian and Bert only likes seeds, grains and worms. Somehow Houndsley concocts something both will eat and enjoy and they encourage him to enter the cooking contest to win a prize of pots and pans. Let's just say things do not go as planned. In the final chapter on a quiet evening Houndsley and Catina are thinking about what they've just been through. They decide that being the best at something is not all that important.
