If you're looking for a fantasy series for a fluent reader, this is a nice place to start.Who knew a soccer ball could take you to such a magical place?Neal and Julie agree to help their friend clean up his basement, and suddenly they find themselves transported from a dirty basement to a magical world in a matter of seconds. As they arrive, they are in the midst of knights fighting a battle and, shortly, they are drawn into the entire adventure and go forth to save Princess Keeah. As the adventure ends, they come home, butthey will return soon to the Land of Droon. Will your child become a devotee of Harry Potter and T. A. Barron? This is a great introduction to the world of fantasy.I like to use this as a litmus test with young readers to see if fantasy will be their genre.Other books in this series include Journey to the Volcano Palace, The Mysterious Island, City in the Clouds, The Great Ice Battle, The Sleeping Giant of Goll, Into the Land of the Lost, The Golden Wasp, Tower of the Elf King, and Quest for the Queen.
