This is a great list of rebus books (books where words are replaced by pictures or letters). There is quite a diversity of appropriate age ranges here, and the content varies from highly educational early reading primers to puzzle books that are purely for fun. This list, compiled by the Allen County Public Libary in Indiana, is well worth exploring!

Great Kid Books

My name is Mary Ann Scheuer and I write Great Kid Books, as a site to help parents find great books for their kids ages 4 - 14.

I started Great Kid Books in 2008 out of a conviction that parents play a crucial role in helping their children find books that are just right for them - and yet parents are often frustrated by not knowing what books will hook their children. Parents remember the books they read as children, and they see the blockbusters that are on sale everywhere - but it's hard to find other books that will interest their children. I review a range of books - mostly new books, but sometimes older books that are amazing - in a wide range of genres, including nonfiction, poetry, fiction, easy readers, picture books, transitional chapter books, and longer novels.

I am an elementary librarian at Emerson School, a public elementary school in Berkeley, CA. I am also pursuing my Masters in Library and Information Science at San Jose State University in California.

I'm a board book and picture book author and former teacher with a passion for kid's books. I tend to focus on kid's book news and reviews of books. Board books to tween books reviewed here, with a few parental and educational resources thrown in for good measure. I generally post a couple of times a week, but occasionally take a break when I have a book deadline or when I'm away.

I'm a middle school librarian who serves grades 5 - 8. I blog about middle grade and young adult fiction (all genres), non-fiction and audio. I also review the occasional picture book because I believe one is never too old for picture books and many picture books can be creatively used in the middle school setting. Occasionally, I write about personal events or literature news. I have been blogging since December of 2009.
